OK, I’m no massive TV watcher but I love music. I mean don’t get me wrong, I was border line obsessed with Love Island (anyone know when its coming back on our screens) and Celebs Go Dating is on my TV every night (guilty) but the night of the BRIT awards is my all time favourite. Red carpet, live music, amazing outfits and horrendously good jokes from Mr Jack Whitehall what is not to love?
As I was super busy picking up a pizza order – priorities – I missed the red carpet live stream 😦 So,in between all the live performances – crying at Ed Sheeran’s every word and swooning over Dua Lip’s body, please how is she so perfect? I was obsessively scrolling through my phone at incoming pictures and posts of ‘best dressed‘. Correct me if I’m wrong but I thought everyone looked unbelievable, although I suppose maybe we all would if we had a glam team, eh? *making myself feel better about that pizza I just scoffed and my not so flattering washed out jammies*
On a serious note, I felt so empowered to see all the woman in attendance holding/wearing a white rose in support of the ‘Time’s Up’ movement, to show solidarity with victims of sexual assault and harassment. Dua Lipa’s (first) acceptance speech epitomised everything this was, she highlighted that it’s time for woman to stand together and dream, she looked ahead to the future of more woman ‘on these stages, winning these awards and taking over the world.’ This is EXACTLY the type of role woman we need in todays society. GRAB YA GIRL GANG, TELL EM YOU LOVE THEM!
Have a scroll and look at my favourite looks from the night, there was everything from classy to sassy! When can I get glammed up and attend an award show… of any sort?
Emma Willis, bang on trend wearing a flared trouser suit in a pastel blue colour. Spring is in the air!
Classy in black Ella Eyre, Amber Davis and Cheryl show exactly how its done! Obessing over the detailing in all three dresses, if your following my daily looks on instagram, you’ll know I LOVE a dramatic sleeve.
Little Mix – these girls just cant do no wrong but Leigh-Anne stole the show last night for sure! WAOW!
Clara Paget looking like perfection in this subtle printed jumpsuit teamed with metalic platforms. Well done gal!
Holly Willoughby, the queen of the high street looking absolutely beautiful as ever! Wishing I could pull of a red lip that effortlessly.
We can’t forget, the Queens of Radio, Annie Mac and Sara Cox, travelling to the BRITs, on the tube. Keep your feet on the ground ladies and gentlemen…
NOW. Drumroll please… My top 3! I mean I’ve been following/obsessing over them all religiously on Instagram since forever, but continue to be shook at how fab they look every single time! Last night confirmed it; my lady crushes.
#3 RITA ORA
Can this amazing lady pull of any look she dares? She went from absolute fashionista, to casually cool international pop star to, within a couple of minutes, Julia Roberts back up in Pretty Woman. GOALS!
#2 DUA LIPA
She had every reason to be confident, attending the BRIT’s as a five time nominee, she was destined to have a good night regardless of the outcome! If she didn’t look good enough on the red carpet in that fantastic, over the top, stand out PINK number, she looked abso amazing in her gorgeous baby blue, beaded, floor length piece when she picked up her award for Best British Female, not to forget her summertime inspired swimwear piece ‘New Rules’ performance! One word – GOALS!
#1 MAYA JAMA
This girl will never be too big for her boots – welcome MAYA JAMA! What a beauty! This metallic pink blazer style playsuit screams award show but, show me the after party?! The subtle square buckle belt is so on trend that she is a clear winner in my eyes! After seeing instagram stories (life) of her rocking a pair of flat Dr Martin chelsea boots to the after party, I was sold! I mean if Stormzy is your bf you can do what you want, right?
On that note, let’s take a minute to appreciate the man of the moment, from his humbling reactions to winning British Male Solo Artist and the British Album of the Year to throwing Teresa May some hefty shade in a freestyle masterpiece, it’s safe to say he’s one of the best just now!
Awh and thats it for another year, fashions come and go and red carpet outfits can be hit or miss for some people but I think all in attendance wore something that worked, even if it was just the addition of the white rose!
However, lets be in agreement on one thing, can we keep Jack Whitehall in that role for next year, and the year after, and maybe the year after that too?
Chat soon lovelies
